Preventative Care requires regular dental visits to improve the health of your teeth and gums. Plaque, tartar and bacteria must be removed routinely to maintain good oral health and prevent periodontal disease.
How often should I have my teeth professionally cleaned?
You should have your teeth cleaned professionally at least two times a year.
How do I maintain the cleanliness of my teeth after a professional cleaning?
You should brush and floss your teeth at least two times a day, typically in the morning and before bed.
What will happen if I don't keep my teeth clean?
You will develop periodontal disease that will cause bone loss which results in tooth loss if untreated. You will also develop decay that can cause pain, infection, and can result in tooth loss if untreated.
What can I do to reduce tooth sensitivity?
Sensitivity occurs when the underlying layer of your teeth, the dentin, is exposed. It is caused by many factors such as brushing too hard, tooth decay, gum disease, acidic foods, and teeth grinding. Our office has many products to help reduce sensitivity. We offer relief during procedures and oral education to help in day to day life.
Are dental X-Rays safe?
The amount of radiation you are exposed to during a dental x-ray should not be a concern for most people. Thanks to technological advances, radiation pinpoints small areas. The procedure is even more efficient with the digital x-rays used to day. Additionally, X-ray machines are legally subjected to regularly inspection, we have ours inspected annually.
